Symmetric relaxation

This movie shows the generic evolution of the distribution functions of the inner and outer ESs in the Fokker-Planck regime. The curves are obtained by solving numerically the full kinetic equations. The movie illustrates the drift-diffusion dynamics of the relaxation predicted by the Fokker-Planck approach. In particular one can clearly see that the inner ES heats up before the Fermi sea of the outer ES begins to smear. Also visible is the fact that an initially symmetric EDIE remains symmetric during the course of relaxation. The same parameters as the bottom panel in Fig. 5 in the main text are used. The dashed lines are the initial distributions.
