Jump-like relaxation I

This movie shows the evolution of the distribution functions beyond the Fokker-Planck regime, when the average number of injected high energy electrons is still small compared to 1, but the average energy exchange per collision is on the order of the mean energy of the injected electrons. Referring to the manuscript this corresponds to a strongly disordered edge. One can clearly see here that in this case, relaxation proceeds in a jump-like fashion in strong contrast to the drift diffusion dynamics of the Fokker-Planck regime.
